ACCOUNT & PRIVACY
Delete your MyEverLife account
You can delete your MyEverLife account at any time, and you do not need anyone's permission to do it. This page explains how, what disappears, and what we are required to keep.
Delete it yourself, from the app
- Open the MyEverLife app.
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Read the warning and tap Continue.
- Tap Delete forever.
We ask twice on purpose. There is no undo.
Or ask us to do it for you
If you cannot get into the app, or you would rather we handled it, email support@myeverlife.com from the email address on the account with “Please delete my account” in the subject line. We will confirm it is you, delete everything, and reply to tell you it is done. Allow up to seven days, though it is usually the same day.
If someone has died and you are their executor or their legacy steward, email the same address and tell us that, and we will walk you through it properly rather than deleting anything in a hurry.
What gets deleted
- Your profile, your name, your email address and your birthday
- Every answer you gave to every question
- Every journal entry
- Every EverMessage you wrote or recorded, and the people you addressed them to
- Everything in your EverVault, including documents, photos and videos
- Every voice recording, and any cloned voice built from them, including the copy held at our voice provider
- Any likeness or face built for EverMe, including the copy held at the provider that generated it
- Your executors, your legacy stewards and everyone you granted access to
- Every sharing setting, and the record of what you had used of your plan
This is a permanent erasure, not a deactivation. Nothing is held in a recycle bin. We cannot restore it afterwards and neither can you, so please be sure.
If any single piece of it cannot be removed at the moment you ask, the app tells you exactly what is still standing rather than reporting success it has not earned.
What we have to keep, and for how long
Records of payments: If you ever subscribed, Canadian tax law requires us to keep a record of the transaction for six years. That record is the amount, the date and the invoice number. It is not your life story, your messages or your files.
Backups: Our database backups roll over on a thirty day cycle. Your data is gone from the live system the moment you delete it, and it ages out of the backups within thirty days. Backups are encrypted and are never read except to recover from a disaster.
Your card details: We never had them. Apple, Google and Stripe handle payment, and cancelling a subscription is done through whichever of them you signed up with. Deleting your MyEverLife account does not on its own cancel an active subscription, so cancel that first if you have one.
Deleting some of it without deleting all of it
You do not have to go all or nothing. Inside the app you can delete any single EverMessage, any vault item, any journal entry or any answer on its own, and Settings has separate controls to remove your cloned voice and your EverMe likeness while keeping the rest of your account.
